Who Are BEE Club Peer Leaders
BEE Club Inc. Peer Leaders are girls in the 10th–12th grade who are ready to move beyond leadership exposure and step into applied and advanced leadership practice through the BEEYOND Leaders Program.
Peer Leaders help shape chapter culture, support members, and lead with confidence, care, and purpose.
Peer Leaders move through leadership pathways that reflect their growth and readiness:
BusyBEEs—Active leaders who apply leadership skills by planning meetings, facilitating workshops, and leading service projects.
HoneyBEEs—Advanced leaders who mentor others, guide chapter vision, and lead with impact across school and community spaces.
Peer Leader Benefits
Through BEEYOND Leaders, Peer Leaders:
-
Apply leadership skills in real-world settings
-
Support and mentor younger members as they grow
-
Co-design and lead workshops, service projects, and chapter initiatives
-
Strengthen their voice, decision-making, and leadership presence
Peer Leaders are preparing to enter college, careers, and the professional world with confidence, break barriers, and step into spaces where women’s leadership is still underrepresented.

CHAPTER LEGACY
ATLANTA & ATHENS
BEE CLUB INC. AT WESTLAKE
Founded in 2013 at Westlake High School by then-senior Akilah Blount, BEE Club was created when one girl was told she didn’t belong in leadership — and chose to build a space where every girl could.
What began with 100 girls has grown into a proven leadership development pipeline that has served 775+ girls across Georgia, with more than 180 stepping into leadership roles in their schools and communities.
Today, BEE Club serves girls ages 14–18 through a culturally affirming sisterhood and hands-on leadership experiences that help girls:
-
Build confidence and use their voice
-
Learn and practice real-world leadership skills
-
Connect with Peer Leaders, women mentors, and community partners
-
Lead projects, events, and initiatives that create impact
BEE Club is more than a club — it’s a community where girls belong, grow, and lead together.
Join the BEE Club at Westlake and begin your leadership journey!

BEE CLUB INC. IN ATHENS, GA
In 2018, BEE Club Inc. expanded its work beyond metro Atlanta through a strategic partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Athens-Clarke County Library, and the University of Georgia School of Social Work. This collaboration supported a trauma-informed leadership initiative that launched BEE Club’s second chapter at Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, Georgia.
The Cedar Shoals chapter began in 2019 with an inaugural cohort of 30 girls and became the foundation for BEE Club’s broader presence in Athens. Over the course of five impactful years, BEE Club served 179 girls across the Athens community through school-based programming, leadership labs, mentorship experiences, and community partnerships.
By 2023, the Cedar Shoals chapter had grown into BEE Club’s largest and most ethnically diverse chapter, reflecting the organization’s commitment to equity, access, and culturally responsive leadership development. Girls at Cedar Shoals strengthened their confidence, voice, and civic engagement while helping shape the evolution of BEE Club’s program model.
Programming in Athens concluded after five successful years, but the legacy of Cedar Shoals remains deeply woven into BEE Club’s history. The leadership, learning, and innovation that emerged from this chapter continue to inform how BEE Club partners with schools and supports girls across Georgia.
