Girls in Leadership

On October 7, 2013, CEO and President Akilah Blount founded the BEE Club in Atlanta, Georgia at Westlake High School. She led BEE Club Inc.'s first-ever BEE Club meeting with 100 freshmen and senior high school girls. Today, the club has grown into a 501(c)(3) organization that serves as peer leadership group for girls. We are now operating at two high schools in Georgia, including Westlake High School in South Fulton and Cedar Shoals High School in Athens-Clarke County. In light of our 10th Anniversary, we are celebrating our cause to empower girls in the state of Georgia to become self-defined leaders who shape the future. Help us continue the work we do, by making a donation today!

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Our HIVE School Leadership Development model empowers girls of diverse backgrounds to overcome race and gender inequities in schools. Within the model, our girls work collaboratively with school teachers, counselors, and social workers to leverage support resources and activate opportunities for personal and professional advancement. We catalyze the resources of women and other girl-serving organizations to support girls in organizing meaningful, self-directed activities that foster positive growth and development for girls in their schools and communities.
